Another reason why Dolly is a living legend
Dolly Parton just donated a million dollars to research and treat children’s infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. According to the press release that money will help “understanding how viruses and bacteria cause disease, understanding and preventing resistance to antibiotics, preventing and treating infections, diagnosing and treating infections in children with cancer and research to define the impact of childhood infections throughout the world.”
This isn’t the first time she’s stepped up in a big way. Perhaps you remember another million dollar check she wrote back in 2020 to help fund COVID research… Or her incredibly successful Imagination Library program that sends free books to children.
Dolly said, “I love all children. No child should ever have to suffer, and I’m willing to do my part to try and keep as many of them as I can as healthy and safe as possible.”
